The Mooring Integrity Engineer is responsible for developing and executing in-service mooring inspection plans and programs; reviewing and maintaining inspection and monitoring data; performing integrity and fit-for-service assessments; shaping mooring integrity strategies, including RBI-based management plans. The role also liaises with global operations; supports incident response from planning through execution; collaborates with analysis teams and suppliers; specifies, supports mooring monitoring systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaise with operations teams worldwide to support technical and operational needs related to FPSO mooring systems.
- Develop in-service inspection plans and inspection work packs based on mooring configuration, integrity management plan and previous history of inspections and anomalies. Maintain a library of standardized inspection methods, for implementation into the work packs.
- Develop, maintain, and execute Inspection Programs (support Class defined scopes, or define RBI scopes).
- Review received inspection data, and maintain a mooring inspection database.
- Perform technical assessments on the condition of the mooring systems, based on inspection and monitoring data. Assess the condition of the components, and the overall performance of the system.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of mooring-system and component degradation mechanisms and integrity issues, including the methods used to detect and characterize them.
- Work closely with the mooring and hydrodynamic analysis group, and share feedback from (operational) lessons learned to improve mooring design practices.
- Stay up-to date with subsea inspection techniques and tools. Engage with suppliers and service providers on new developments and best practices.
- Tailor (internal or external) client requested scope of work, and develop a commercial agreement to execute.
- Specify and support the development of mooring monitoring systems.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field (Mechanical, Ocean, Naval Architecture, Marine, etc.).
5+ years of hands-on experience in offshore, mooring, marine, or otherwise relevant field, in either of the following capacities:
- Engineering and design
- Installation
- Operations support
- Asset and integrity management
Preferred experiences include:
- Mooring Systems analysis and design
- Mooring system installation
- Mooring component manufacturing
- Inspection, monitoring, and condition assessments of mooring components
- Marine or Subsea construction or operations
- Class Compliance (ABS / DNV / LR) related to marine and mooring systems
