MODEC is a general contractor specializing in engineering, procurement, construction and installation of floating production systems including Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessels, Tension Leg Platforms (TLPs), Production Semi-Submersibles, Mobile Offshore Production Units (MOPUs) and other new technologies which will meet the challenges of various types of gas production floaters. We have an exciting opportunity for Sr Process Engineer position in our Houston office.

The Sr. Process Engineer creates and reviews designs, drawings, specifications, etc. involving existing and new technology or applications. The candidate will provide process engineering support of proposals and FEEDs. The proposals and FEEDs are typically for upstream oil & gas facilities located on FPSOs or TLPs.

The candidates will perform various conceptual studies that render the most optimized design catered to project-specific objectives – typically involving lowest life cycle cost.

The candidate will need to be capable of producing a broad spectrum of core process engineering and related deliverables to a FEED level of detail:

- Simulation / Heat & Material Balances

- PFDs

- Equipment Sizing

- Equipment Lists

- Topsides Plot Plan

- Data Sheets

- Requisitions

- Utility Summaries

- Line Sizing

- P&IDs

- SAFE Charts

The candidate will need to be able to quickly adapt designs based on changing (client) inputs.

The candidate will need to be able to “sell” his/her design solutions to client.

The candidate will need to interface with other process engineers as well as with other disciplines to render the best (and consistent) overall solution.

The candidate will ultimately need to become familiar with estimating costs in absence of much available data.

  • · Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering (or Petroleum Engineering)
  • · Professional Engineering License is a plus.
  • · Minimum of seven (7) years in upstream oil & gas industry
  • · Strong command of English language; highly proficient in spoken and written English.
